The Commissum Casino Rolled Into Town For InfoSec 2015!

Earlier on this month Commissum had a chance to exhibit at the largest Information Security event in Europe. Our team spent 3 full days at Olympia Kensington, showcasing our latest services and talking to visitors about emergent trends in Cyber Security.

This year our stand had a casino theme based on our #DontGambleWithYourSecurity marketing campaign. It was a great opportunity to engage with clients, old and new. Visitors were treated to free beers and magic performances by in house social engineering expert, magician and managing consultant, Jay George, and play Black Jack at our professionally manned table for prizes.

Unique business cards – poker chips

The highest cashouts each day won luxury poker sets and the top five were entered for our grand prize – A Walkera GPS Drone. The grand prize was picked up by lucky winner,  Nik Rhodes of Rivo Software. Nik had his prize hand delivered this week by Frank Green, Head of Sales & Marketing at Commissum (see the picture above). Well done Nik, Vegas is calling! Until then Nik will be learning how to fly the drone and promised to send us some pictures once he progresses. Lastly well done to Christopher Hatwell, Justin Walton, and Will Manfield who were the daily high cashouts and received a poker set each. The rest of the delegates who stopped by received our unique playing card business cards or a cool Commissum branded poker chip keychain.

Liam Romanis holds the Infosecurity Europe 2015 magazine that published his article

The show was a great success in more ways than the stand, Liam Romanis, Senior Consultant at Commissum, had his article titled “Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems and Cyber Security” published in the official Infosecurity Europe 2015 magazine, and he was happy to discuss it with the conference attendees curiously asking him questions. If you did not have a chance to read it in the show magazine, you can read an online version here. Liam’s article has gained great traction and has since been featured in other publications.

Commissum staff were in high demand from the press at the show and Boglarka Ronto, Managing Consultant at Commissum, was interviewed by The Global Identity Foundation, whilst Frank had a chance to share his experience with the Infosecurity Europe correspondents. His interview can be viewed here. Frank took the opportunity to explain Commissum’s unique value proposition and had this to say: ”We have a multidisciplinary team with multidisciplinary security capabilities, and we bring them together to make sure that clients are protected in a much more holistic manner than traditional point-to-point solutions”. As a result, and building on the conference success, we hope that this year will be our best ever year!

Commissum team

Looking back, Commissum was established in 1985, and some of our peers and clients still remember the first Infosecurity Europe exhibition that was held in 1995. Therefore, we are always confident about attending the event – it has been bringing industry professionals into one place for two decades.

Pleasure to meet industry veteran John McAfee

Since InfoSecurity Europe was celebrating its 20th anniversary, special guest – security industry veteran John McAfee – was invited to talk on global hacking scandals and personal privacy online. The Scottish-American security legend and general raconteur admitted that from his point of view “there’s more wrong than right in the security industry”.  A few of the Commissum team managed to find John working the floor and took the chance for a quick photo op!

Overall, Commissum had another great Infosec and it was a great chance to catch up with friends old and new too. It is now back to business as usual, making sure organisations are protected from cyber threats. Finally remember, #DontGambleWithYourSecurity
