The leading information security practice Commissum is continuing its incentive of sponsoring the prize for the best student on The Open University course module M886 – “Information Security Management.”
The prize is awarded annually for the overall best student in assessments throughout the length of the course.
The postgraduate “Information Security Management” module falls under the “Project Management” series of modules delivered by the Computing Department from within The Open University. This is a practice-based module, including a lot of practical work. The students are required to build an Information Security Management System as part of their course, and for this they need to work closely with a company of their choice.
Both Commissum and The Open University see this opportunity as beneficial to both students and companies, and encourage this type of sponsorship as a way to strengthen the links between technical study and practice-based experience.
Commissum is a well-established, leading information security company headquartered in Edinburgh, with over 20 years of expertise in fields such as ISO 27001 consulting, penetration testing, mobile device security assessment, wireless vulnerability assessment and managed security services.
