Commissum Press Release – Commissum Team Enters New Financial Year with Addition of Business Development Executive and Cybersecurity Apprentice
Cybersecurity consultancy and testing services provider Commissum are set to continue their strong growth into the new financial year, with an increase in sales capacity and delivery resources at the firm.
George Townson has become the company’s first Cybersecurity Apprentice, working out of our new Leeds office, while Robin Mulligan joins as Business Development Executive. Both are set to kick off the new financial year at the dynamic security company.
It was his interest in technology that first drove George to seek out cybersecurity career opportunities, with the apprenticeship role providing the perfect entry point for him: “Cybersecurity is extremely interesting to me. Rather than following the university route, I felt the apprenticeship would provide the perfect chance to gather experience in a real-world working environment.”
So far, George’s main objective has been to get up to speed on our soon-to-be-launched Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system. “Getting my head round the SIEM system has been a challenge, but the team has been very supportive. I’m confident with their help I’ll be an expert in no time.”
Robin Mulligan joins the Commissum Sales Department as a Business Development Executive. Robin is an experienced hire and comes from a cybersecurity background, having previously worked in the industry for some years. Robin will be bringing his skills in Enterprise Account Management and new business development to the team.
“Having now worked in the security industry for four years, I’ve developed a depth of knowledge which I’m excited to put into practice driving Commissum’s plans for ongoing growth. I’ve been most surprised at how comfortable I’ve felt from the start – testament to the inclusion and support from every single member of staff. I’ve also been introduced to the incredible fish tank everyone’s been talking about in the Edinburgh office!” said Robin after his first couple of weeks in the role.
Jay George, Commissum COO, commented: “This is an exciting time for Commissum. We’ve always invested in our people and in many cases industry experience and a vocational course can be as valuable, or more, than a traditional undergraduate degree. We are extremely proud to be supporting the scheme and as our first Cybersecurity Apprentice we feel we can really help George to meet his potential.”
Head of Sales & Marketing, Frank Green, added: “Robin’s addition to our Sales and Marketing team bolsters our ability to meet the growing demand from the market going into the new financial year. We’re excited to have him aboard and eager to see Robin being a successful part of the team.”
Commissum are always on the lookout for new talent to join us on our exciting journey. Right now, we’re recruiting for a senior penetration test consultant (CCT level), with more vacancies in the pipeline.
